Cod, The Fish that ate Canberra is a ‘no-budget’ (extremely low budget) feature film, currently in production by an all-local cast and crew and is set in our hometown, Canberra.

The film is a comedy and is intended to show the Australian Film Industry that Canberra is a viable place to make feature films and has the necessary talent to do so. The film has an ensemble cast of characters and is designed to showcase Canberra as a fun and vibrant city. For more details about the story please read the synopsis.

We currently have support from the ACT Government as well as some small private investment.

Unfortunately at this point we do not have a budget to cover wages and fees. However we are very fortunate to have a great volunteer cast and crew, and support and offers of help from various Canberra businesses and organisations.

If you are interested in helping the crew on this exciting production, please see our 'Crewing' page.

Extras Wanted

Do you want a small part on the big screen? We are also looking for a large number of Canberrans willing to be extras in some of our larger scenes, including a large family crowd at a carnival on the lake shore, and school kids arriving at the fictional 'George Lazenby High School'. We are also particularly interested in anyone with any type of watercraft (from dragon-boats to paddle steamers) for a scene involving a "fishing fleet". If this sounds like fun to you, please visit our extras registration page.

cheers & thanks
